COPENHAGEN, Denmark, Aug. 8 (UPI) -- Caroline Wozniacki delighted her home country crowd Sunday with a straight-set win over Klara Zakopalova to claim the Danish Open in Copenhagen.
The top-seeded Dane got past the Czech Republic's Zakopalova 6-2, 7-6 (7-5) to notch her second tournament win this season after defending her Ponte Vedra Beach crown in April.
Wozniacki used two service breaks to breeze through the first set, but Zakopalova put up a fight in the second frame, rallying from 4-2 down to force a tiebreak.
Wozniacki established a 6-1 in the extra but then surrendered the next four points to the seventh-seeded Zakopalova. The Dane, however, battled back to take the last two to complete the match. UPI
