SHIVPURI, India, Sept. 20 (UPI) -- A freight train crashed into a stationary passenger train in India early Monday, killing at least 10 people, a railway official said.
About 50 other people were injured, some seriously, Piyush Mathur of West Central Railway told the Press Trust of India.
The collision occurred at Badarwas railway station in Madhya Pradesh's Shivpuri district during heavy rains.
Mathur said the freight train driver overran a signal and hit the Indore-Gwalior Inter-City Express as it sat at the station.
