Experts from the aviation sector in the UAE have expressed their dissatisfaction of what they described as chaos when it comes to prices of flight tickets.
Arabic daily Emarat Al Youm quoted officials as saying that there is no control over travel agencies with relation to pricing of flight tickets.
The officials were quoted as saying: “Companies should adopt policies include the fixing of ticket prices and self-monitoring of prices based on the laws of supply and demand”.
Meanwhile consumers complained of what they saw as “non-observance of consumer rights in obtaining a fair price for airline tickets”.
Both, experts and consumers, have asked “concerned departments such as the Civil Aviation Authority, Ministry of Economy and other economic departments, to protect the consumer from what they described as monopolistic practices of some companies.
