Dubai bids to host World Chambers Congress

Dubai has sought to host the 8th World Chambers Congress 2013, which brings together representatives of 12,000 global chambers.
The congress, the only international forum for chamber of commerce leaders to share best-practice experience, develop networks, and address the local business issues that count to the companies in their region, is organised by the ICC World Chambers Federation (WCF) and held every two years in different regions of the world.
“Dubai has everything it takes to host the World Chambers Congress 2013 in the emirate,” said Hamad Buamim, Director General, Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry during the Chamber’s bid presentation to the Congress Selection Committee of the International Chambers of Commerce’s World Chambers Federation or WCF General Council meeting in Paris last week.
Besides Dubai Chamber, the Qatar Chamber of Commerce & Industry has bid for hosting the Congress.
During the bid’s crucial final phase, Buamim informed the committee that no other city and chamber in the region can offer the level of international experience, technical know-how and the proven track-record that is needed to take the 8th World Chambers Congress to newer heights of success and prosperity.
