ATLANTA, Sept. 22 (UPI) -- Three-time major tournament winner Ernie Els and former U.S. President George H.W. Bush have been selected for induction into the World Golf Hall of Fame.
Doug Ford and Jock Hutchinson, chosen in the hall's Veterans Category, will be the other members of the class of 2011, officials said Wednesday.
Els, who won a spot in the Hall of Fame in his first year of eligibility, has 18 PGA Tour victories in his career. His major tournament wins are the U.S. Open in 1994 and 1997 and the British Open in 2002.
Bush was given the PGA Tour Lifetime Achievement Award in 2009 and is an honorary member of the PGA. He's been honorary chairman of the tour's First Tee program since 1997 and also worked with the USGA Museum.
Ford won the 1955 PGA Championship and 1957 Masters along with 17 other PGA tournaments.
Hutchinson won 14 tournaments, including the 1920 PGA Championship and 1921 British Open.
