England threaten Butt with legal action

(CNN) -- The England cricket team will commence legal action against Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Ijaz Butt, unless they receive a "full and unreserved apology" for match-fixing allegations he made against English players.
Butt said he had heard from bookmakers that some players were paid to lose Friday's one day international against Pakistan, claims the England team vehemently denied.
A statement on the England and Wales Cricket Board's (ECB) website said: "The ECB and the PCA (Professional Cricketers' Association) today confirmed that a pre-action letter has been sent on behalf of the England cricket team to Ijaz Butt.
"The letter seeks a full and unreserved apology. Mr Butt has been advised that if a satisfactory response is not received, legal proceedings will be commenced against him without further notice".
