Russian President Dmitry Medvedev has arrived in Shanghai where he will attend the Russia Day at the Expo 2010 exhibition on Tuesday.
Medvedev, in China since Sunday, and Chinese Vice President Xi Jinping will take part in the opening of the Russia Day program and then visit the Russian and Chinese pavilions. Later they will hold talks.
The 2010 World Expo is being held in Shanghai from May 1 to October 31, 2010. Over 200 states, corporations and international organization take part in the Expo. Over 48 million people have visited the event since its opening and over 5 million of them have come to the Russian pavilion.
Russia constructed a pavilion at the exhibition for the first time in 30 years. The sun-shaped building comprises 12 white-and-gold towers symbolizing the 12 months of the year, and occupies an area of 6,000 square meters.
