The Dubai Criminal Court adjourned for verdict the case of a Bangladeshi office boy at Dubai International Airport’s Customs office accused of stealing shields and a picture of a female employee for being pretty.
The JRA’s two compatriots identified as SKS and SFM, who work for Group 4 Falak - a company assigned by the airport to perform services, were accused of stealing from the luggage of passengers.
SFM is already detained in a similar theft case pending at the court.
JRA and SKS denied before the court on Monday the charges whereas SFM has confessed to the accusation. The court adjourned the case for verdict until October 4.
Obaid Khalfan, 25, a policeman at the airport’s security control department, testified that following increasing complaints about theft of items of the airport and Dubai Customs in addition to passengers’ luggage and stuff, the department initiated investigations and identified a group of suspects.
Questioning them one by one without any arrest, police narrowed down to three Bangladeshi suspects.
When asked about missing items from Dubai Customs office at the airport, JRA, 37, confessed to stealing two shields and a picture of a former female employee from her file at the office because he appreciated her beauty.
He claimed that he put the two shields in his pocket and forgot to return them. The following day he told his senior about the incident who he claimed asked him to return them. Investigation of the story proved it to be false.
