CHICAGO, Sept. 22 (UPI) -- Police in a Chicago suburb say they used a net, a garbage can and a pole borrowed from a utility worker to capture an alligator spotted in a front lawn.
Buffalo Grove police said they received a call about the 3-foot gator about 8:30 p.m. Tuesday and officers eventually cornered it with the use of a 30-foot pole borrowed from a ComEd employee working nearby, the Chicago Sun-Times reported Wednesday.
"Along with (the pole), they used a net we catch small animals with and a garbage can and herded (it) in ... by grabbing it upside down," Buffalo Grove police Sgt. Mike Millett said.
