Polish prosecutors 'studying' Russia's extradition request for Zakayev

The Warsaw District Prosecutor's Office has received and is studying Russia's extradition request for Chechen leader-in-exile Akhmed Zakayev, a spokesperson said on Wednesday.
"The extradition request was received on Tuesday afternoon," the spokesperson told TVN24 news.
"After examining the request we will decide what to do next; the case will likely be transferred to court," she said.
Zakayev left Poland for London on Monday because his Polish visa had expired.
He said he was ready to return to Poland at the request of Polish prosecutors as soon as he received a new visa.
"If Polish prosecutors want to see me, I will come," he said.
Zakayev walked out of a Polish court on Friday evening several hours after he was arrested at Russia's request.
Moscow wants Zakayev in Russia to face terrorism, murder, kidnapping and other charges.
