JERUSALEM, Sept. 10 (UPI) -- A Qassam rocket fired from Gaza exploded in southern Israel hours after the Israeli air force struck suspected militant targets in Gaza, the Israeli army said.
The Qassam rocket fired Friday morning landed in the center of a community in the western Negev, causing no injuries or damages.
A number of mortar shells and three Qassam rockets were fired by militants in Gaza at southern Israel since Wednesday, the army said.
In an attack Wednesday morning, a mortar shell exploded between day-care centers on a kibbutz shortly before the children were to arrive. No one was injured but the buildings suffered damage.
