Russia's only remaining representative at the 2010 U.S. Open tennis tournament prepares to face Estonia's Kaia Kanepi on Wednesday in New York.
This year's Wimbledon finalist Zvonareva reached the quarterfinals of the Grand Slam tournament in the United States after quick straight sets victory over Germany's Andrea Petkovic 6-1, 6-2.
Russian tennis head coach Vladimir Kamelzon is positive that Kuznetsova, ranked 8th in the Women Tennis Association rankings list, will defeat World No. 33 Kanepi and might go on win the U.S. Open title.
"Zvonareva is one of the few Russians currently playing at a decent level. She is capable of winning this U.S. Open," Kamelzon said.
The first pair of the semifinalists has been already determined. World's No. 3 Kim Klijsters of Belgium will play Venus Williams of the United States for the place in the final.
