Russia's ruling United Russia party urged its members to use iPads at its upcoming general committee meeting as a part of campaign to save paper, a business daily said on Monday.
"When it comes to information technology, we should set an example," general committee member Vyacheslav Volodin told the Vedomosti daily.
Volodyn said he hoped the party's regional branches would follow suit, as "new technology is available to everybody".
iPads are not yet officially on sale in Russia.
