Kabul, Afghanistan (CNN) -- Six foreign troops were killed in Afghanistan Wednesday, making it the deadliest day for NATO there in nearly a month.
Four died after an improvised explosive device attack in southern Afghanistan, and two others died in separate incidents earlier, NATO's International Security Assistance Force said.
One died in an insurgent attack in eastern Afghanistan, the alliance said in a statement.
The other died in an IED attack in the south of the country, ISAF said.
ISAF did not announce the nationalities of any of the dead, in line with policy leaving identification up to the victims' home countries.
It's the first time since September 18 that so many international troops have been killed in hostile incidents in Afghanistan in a single day, according to CNN records.
