Djokovic faces Federer in Shanghai semis

(CNN) -- Novak Djokovic continued his imperious recent form Friday with a 6-2 6-3 victory over Guillermo Garcia-Lopez to reach the Shanghai Masters semifinals, where he will play Roger Federer.
Second seed Djokovic completed his win in 77 minutes, claiming a fourth career success over the Spaniard and boosting his hopes of lifting a second successive trophy following his China Open triumph on Monday.
The Serb will now face world No. 3 Federer in a repeat of September's U.S. Open semifinal, which Djokovic won after the Swiss had failed to convert two match points.
"I felt great on the court today, Garcia Lopez has been playing some good tennis in last couple of weeks, beating Nadal in Bangkok," Djokovic told the ATP Tour website.
"I was aware of his speed on the court. He hits the ball really well from the baseline. He made me work for the points. Even though it looked comfortable at 2 & 3, I had to really be aware of the speed of the ball that was coming from the other side of the net".
Federer cruised past Swedish fifth seed Robin Soderling, losing only two games en route to a 6-1 6-1 success in a rematch of the 2009 French Open final.
The 16-time grand slam winner lost only 11 points in the entire match, wrapping up his win in just 54 minutes, although Soderling, currently fifth in the world rankings, looks set to claim a place in the season-ending ATP World Tour Finals.
Andy Murray was another man in a hurry against Jo-Wilfried Tsonga, brushing aside the Frenchman 6-2 6-2 in only 55 minutes to book his place in the semifinals, where he will play Juan Monaco.
