(CNN) -- Israeli forces on Sunday targeted a "terrorist squad" that was preparing to fire rockets from northern Gaza, a military spokeswoman said.
The Israeli Defence Forces spokeswoman could not specify how many people were killed or injured.
Palestinian medical and security sources told CNN that one person was killed and four wounded.
The Israeli airstrike targeted militants from the "Islamic Jihad Movement," the sources said.
The casualties were members of the group, according to the sources.
