Man detained after gun found in baggage

CHICAGO, Oct. 25 (UPI) -- A Michigan man was detained after a loaded handgun was discovered in his luggage at Chicago's O'Hare International Airport, officials said.

Francis Cook IV, 67, was charged with a felony weapons violation after an X-ray machine turned up the .380 semiautomatic weapon, the Chicago Tribune reported.

An officer with the Transportation Safety Administration spotted the gun Saturday morning. It had six live rounds in its magazine and one in the chamber.

Cook, of Delton, Mich., was supposed to board an American Airlines flight to Dallas, the report said.
