The majority of Muscovites disapprove of the official candidates for Moscow mayor, according to a survey by the Superjob.ru portal on Monday.
The ruling United Russia party presented a list of four candidates for one of Russia's most-sought-after jobs to President Dmitry Medvedev on Saturday.
The list includes Transport Minister Igor Levitin, Deputy Prime Minister Sergei Sobyanin, Nizhny Novgorod Region Governor Valery Shantsev, and First Deputy Mayor of Moscow Lyudmila Shvetsova.
The survey, carried out among 1,800 Muscovites, suggests that 38 percent of respondents are "not pleased" with any of the candidates. Twenty-six percent say the candidates are "temporary," and will be replaced.
Medvedev, who fired ex-mayor Yury Luzhkov in late September, has now eight days to take his pick.
