RICE, Texas, Oct. 25 (UPI) -- A tornado injured at least four people, destroyed homes, damaged a school and derailed cars of a train in northeast Texas, authorities said.
Winds of 125 mph ripped through Navarro County Sunday, CNN reported.
Other tornadoes were reported in northeast exas as well as Alabama and Tennessee, NBC News said.
Four people were taken to hospitals with minor injuries, Navarro County Chief Deputy Mike Cox said.
Five homes were destroyed in the community of Rice.
Officials said the Navarro County storm caused an 18-wheel truck to flip onto a passenger car, injuring two people, damaged an elementary school and knocked freight train cars off their track.
An official said there were no reports of injuries at the school.
Sonia Butler hunkered down in the bathroom of her Rice home with her brother as the storm hit.
