Prosecutor demands 23 years for alleged Yamadayev killer

State prosecutors said on Monday that the man accused of the 2008 murder of Russian politician Ruslan Yamadayev should be jailed for at least 23 years.
The prosecution also demanded 19 years for Aslanbek Dadayev's alleged accomplice, Elimpasha Khatsuev.
Dadayev and Khatsuev have both denied the charges.
Yamadayev, an influential Chechen politician and former member of the State Duma, was gunned down in central Moscow on September 24, 2008 when returning from a meeting in the Kremlin. He was shot ten times while sitting in his car.
Khatsuev, who supposedly drove the car from which Dadayev shot Yamadayev, pleaded guilty to illegal arms trafficking only, adding he had no relation to the other crimes.
Ruslan's brother Sulim, a Hero of Russia who commanded the elite Vostok Battalion in Chechnya, was killed in Dubai on March 28, 2009. He was allegedly shot in the chest with three bullets from a gold-plated gun in the car park of a luxury apartment complex where he was living with his wife and children.
