Russia is ready to strengthen cooperation with Iraq, Russian President Dmitry Medvedev said on Monday.
"Our country is interested in restoring dialogue and developing full-fledged cooperation with Iraq," Medvedev said in his speech after receiving credentials from 13 new ambassadors to Russia, including Iraqi envoy Faiq Fariq Abdel Aziz, during a ceremony at the Grand Kremlin Palace.
"We stand for the strengthening of Iraq's unity, sovereignty and territorial integrity, and for the establishment of a democratic and prosperous state there," the Russian president said.
