Russian banks brought to book for 'improper' ads

Russia's Absolut Bank and National Bank Trust have been charged with improper advertising, a Russian business daily reported on Wednesday.
Arbitration courts in Moscow and Nizhny Novgorod have upheld the decision, Vedomosti said.
National Bank Trust was fined 40,000 rubles ($1,300) for outdoor ads that gave information only in very small print, while Absolut bank was accused of producing a poster campaign advertising loans that had all the information on the back of the posters, spokeswoman Olga Buzhak said.
Trust has appealed the decision, the bank's spokeswoman Olga Khodchenkova said. Absolut said it intended to join the appeal.
