Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych has ordered the prime minister to draw up proposals to change the Cabinet of Ministers in accordance with the country's recently altered constitution.
"The president expects the prime minister to suggest by the end of the week changes to the cabinet of ministers according to the requirements of the Constitution," the Ukrainian presidential press service said on Tuesday.
"The head of the state stressed that these suggestions should be prepared in accordance with a future administrative reform and reductions in the numbers of deputies".
The Ukrainian Constitutional Court cancelled on Friday the country's 2004 constitutional reform, which transferred a significant amount of power from the president to parliament.
The court said the bill, passed on December 8, 2004, "does not correspond to the Ukrainian Constitution" because of "violations of constitutional procedures of its consideration and adoption".
The Constitution stipulates three deputy prime ministers in the cabinet instead of the current five.
