CIS free trade deal could be signed in spring - minister

A CIS free trade agreement could be signed next spring, Russian Economic Development Minister Elvira Nabiullina said on Friday.
"We are planning to hold another round [of talks] on December 21-23," she told a meeting of CIS heads of government.
"So, as previously agreed, it could be signed next spring".
The new treaty will supersede hundreds of documents currently regulating trade relations between the CIS countries. It covers a broad range of matters, including the scrapping of customs duties and trade quotas.
