Medvedev, Obama likely to talk at APEC summit - presidential aide

Russian President Dmitry Medvedev is likely to hold talks with his U.S. counterpart Barack Obama during the upcoming APEC summit in Japan, an aide to the Russian leader said.
Sergei Prikhodko said on Monday that at the APEC summit the presidents would discuss Russian-U.S. bilateral relations as well as the ratification process of the new strategic arms reduction treaty.
Both leaders signed the new arms cuts treaty, intended to replace the START 1 agreement that expired in December 2009, on April 8 in Prague. The agreement will come into force after being ratified by both chambers of the Russian parliament and the U.S. Senate.
Medvedev and Obama may also briefly swap the ideas concerning the NATO summit due to be held in Lisbon on November 19, Prikhodko said.
