Plane Crash Shuts Birmingham Airport

Birmingham Airport in the UK was closed on Friday after a light airplane crashed upon landing injuring several persons.
A two-seat private Cessna aircraft carrying human organs for transplant caught fire upon landing at Birmingham, the BBC reported.
One of the two people on board was seriously injured and taken to hospital by helicopter. The other one suffered smaller injuries.
The transplant organs brought by the plane were rescued and transported by the British police to the medical facility that was their destination.
Birmingham Airport canceled all flights until at least 8 pm GMT.
