(CNN) -- Eight people were killed after a truck carrying firecracker materials exploded in Hunan province, China's Xinhua news agency reported Saturday.
The blast occurred Friday evening when a truck carrying firecracker fuses hit an electric wire pole and sparks ignited the items in the truck, the news agency said.
