Al Jazeera English gets India downlink licence

The 24-hour global news and current affairs channel Al Jazeera English has been given a downlinking licence to broadcast in India.
Al Jazeera English's Managing Director Al Anstey says this means cable and satellite companies in India will be able to add the Qatar-based channel to their lineup.
Anstey said in a statement that the channel, which applied for a licence four years ago, already has a bureau in New Delhi. Emirates 24|7
