Md. man's home a Christmas wonderland

PARKTON, Md., Dec. 24 (UPI) -- A Maryland man doesn't just celebrate Christmas -- he turns his house into a supercharged holiday extravaganza he hopes awakens the child in almost everyone.

Chuck Greason, 50, who manages an auto repair shop, has put so many lights on his Parkton, Md., house, and everything around it, that he stopped counting at 50,000.

He never even tried to count all the lighted and mechanical reindeer, snowmen, Santas, angels, penguins and presents that crowd his lawn, The Baltimore Sun reports.

His Christmas wonderland is a place where it's fine for children to run around and touch things.

It's also a place "and where parents might, just for a second, forget they're parents," the newspaper says.

Buddy Graybeal said he didn't expect much when he drove 13 miles to Greason's house from Jarrettsville, Md. But when he saw the lights, the only word that came to him was "unbelievable," he said.

Graybeal immediately called his sister and mother and told them they had to stop whatever they were doing and get into their car immediately and go there.

"When you get older, you lose that excitement," he told the Sun. "But at our age, I guess we need to come to places like this and be our own kids". UPI
