TIJUANA, Mexico, Dec. 31 (UPI) -- Mexican soldiers seized more than 4 tons of marijuana this week in Tijuana, bringing their 2010 total in Baja California to a record 300 tons, officials said.
Nearly half the total, 134 tons, was confiscated in a single bust in October, the San Diego Union-Tribune reported. In that case, Tijuana police spotted a drug convoy near the bus station.
On Thursday, soldiers from the Second Military Zone raided a house where they found 2.6 tons of pot, made two arrests and seized a 1997 Chevrolet Cheyenne, Gen. Gilberto Landeros, the zone commander, said. Information gathered during the raid led them to the second stash of 1.8 tons at a nearby house. UPI
