MIAMI, Jan. 6 (UPI) -- Eleven students were arrested following a fight over a cellphone in Florida's Broward County, the sheriff's department said.
The scuffle broke out Wednesday at Northeast High School in Oakland Park and the students were arrested on charges including battery and disruption of a school function, The Miami Herald reported.
"The deputies on the scene made the determination [of charges] based on the actions of the students and their involvement in the fight," said Dani Moschella, a spokeswoman for the sheriff's department.
No one was injured in the fight and no weapons were involved.
The students, who were taken to Broward's Juvenile Assessment Center, could face 10-day suspensions.
Classes at the school continued on their regular schedule. UPI
