Container leak prompts O'Hare emergency

CHICAGO, Jan. 5 (UPI) -- A leaking container prompted a seven-minute emergency at Chicago's O'Hare International Airport, officials said.

The container in a Lufthansa cargo facility prompted the fire department Wednesday to call for a Level 2 hazardous materials response fearing the substance was radioactive, the Chicago Tribune reported.

A department spokesman said a closer examination of the leaking material determined it was not dangerous.

The emergency lasted about seven minutes, spokesman Richard Rosado said.

The Lufthansa facility is at the southern end of the airport. UPI
