119 dogs removed from Ohio house

CLEVELAND, Feb. 14 (UPI) -- Authorities removed 119 small dogs from a northeastern Ohio house a humane officer said was littered with trash and feces.

WEWS-TV, Cleveland, said four of the dogs were dead, others had bite marks and many suffered from worms.

The Medina County Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals was treating the dogs and planned to try to find homes for them.

Humane officer Mary Jo Johnson said prosecutors would consider animal cruelty or neglect charges this week.

Authorities said the woman who lives in the Chippewa Lake home about 30 miles southwest of Cleveland wanted to be a dog-breeder. UPI
