SAN JOSE, Costa Rica, March 15 (UPI) -- Cabin crew members on an AeroMexico flight stopped two drunken pilots in Costa Rica from entering the cockpit, the airline said.
The co-pilot for Flight 657 Saturday from San Jose to Mexico City tested positive for alcohol but the pilot refused to cooperate after local police were called to perform Breathalyzer tests, El Universal reported Tuesday.
The airline issued a statement saying the pilots were not fit "to operate the aircraft" and had been relieved of duty pending an investigation.
AeroMexico apologized for the incident and compensated the 101 passengers on the flight. UPI
