(CNN) -- World soccer's governing body called a surprise press conference Monday, a day after two top officials were suspended over corruption allegations.
The scandal broke only days before FIFA was due to elect a new president -- and one of the candidates was suspended, leaving current President Sepp Blatter unopposed in Wednesday's vote.
Blatter will be the one holding the press conference Monday. FIFA did not announce what it would be about.
FIFA's ethics committee cleared him of corruption allegations, while suspending Vice President Jack Warner and executive committee member Mohamed Bin Hammam, who was running against Blatter.
FIFA is the body that decides where soccer's quadrennial World Cup will be held, among other responsibilities.
"All charges were dismissed in full" against Blatter, FIFA said Sunday. Blatter, a Swiss national, has led FIFA since 1998 and is now set to win another term, running unopposed.
