A senior Nigerian official has urged the government to share ownership and dividends from the oil and gas resources with citizens to avoid conflicts related to oil and gas in Uganda.
“The people where the oil business is located must be part of it. Give the people a sense of ownership by giving them dividends and the environment must be protected,” Dr Emmanuel Egbogah, a Special Advisor to the Nigerian President on Petroleum Matters told Mr Peter Lokeris, Uganda’s State Minister for minerals at a meeting in Kampala yesterday.
