Rome, Italy (CNN) -- Actor George Clooney testified Friday in Milan, Italy, at the trial of three men accused of fraudulently using the Hollywood star's name to promote a fashion line.
Clooney spoke for about 30 minutes during the two-hour session, at times making people laugh inside the courtroom, CNN affiliate La7 said.
No cameras were allowed inside, Milan newspaper Corriere della Sera reported.
Clooney is suing for 3 million euros in damages, La7 said, after the three men allegedly used the actor's name without his knowledge for a clothing collection.
A large crowd of mostly fans was in the corridors as he testified, La7 said.
