Doctors discovered more than 20 needles in the body of a Brazilian woman, local media reported.
The 35-year-old woman in the state of Para complained of aches in her ear, and the needles were discovered accidentally during an X-ray examination.
Doctors found 24-26 steel needles in the woman's soft tissues. They will decide whether to subject her to surgery to remove the objects.
The patient reportedly grew up in the family of a sewer, and medics said she put the needles into her own body when she was nine to 11 years old.
It is unknown why the woman does not remember this and has not complained of any pains during more than 20 years.
