A police officer has been killed in the volatile Russian republic of Dagestan, a local police spokesman said on Sunday.
The incident occurred at about 1:30 a.m. local time on Sunday in Khasavyurt when unidentified assailants opened fire at a car of the police officer of the Novolaksky district interior department who died from shot wounds, the spokesman said.
