Investigators say no ‘precipitating criminal offence’ led to 17-year-old’s death at Toronto restaurant
The Chinese restaurant where a 17-year-old was shot to death had multiple security cameras, which Toronto police say may have captured images of the gunman.
Tien Pham was killed while eating with friends at the Excellent Cantonese Seafood restaurant on Spadina Avenue south of Dundas Street West early Saturday.
The gunman – his face uncovered – walked through the eatery’s back entrance just after 3 a.m. After shooting Mr. Pham once in the back of the head, police said he calmly and briskly walked out of the restaurant through the same door into a laneway.
