Dubai Municipality hasasked residents not to hire the services of unauthorised butchers as they pose a major threat to food safety and public health, reports Khaleej Times.
As the Holy Month of Ramadan approaches, undercover officials have already nabbed several of these unauthorised butchers.
The newspaper quoted Ahmed Al Shammari, Director of Health Services at Dubai Minicipality as saying butchers who function illegally have no
knowledge about the health of the animals and often slaughter them with contaminated tools.
