Teenager accumulates Dhs70,000 in traffic fines

An Emirati teenager from Ajman who got his driver's licence only a year ago accumulated traffic fines of Dhs70,000 for repeated offences, according to The Gulf Today.
Colonel Obaid Humaid Al Matroushi, Head of the Operations Department at Ajman Police, was quoted as saying the young man's vehicle has been seized for a month.
The newspaper on Friday said the youngster committed a large number of violations due to his reckless driving and non-compliance of speed limits.
The story came to light when Dubai Police slapped a fine on the car for breaking the law regarding tinting glasses.
