Men's tennis Top 10 has no Americans

LONDON, Aug. 9 (UPI) -- Andy Roddick dropped two spots to No. 11 in the men's world tennis rankings, marking the first time no American is rated in the Top 10.

Roddick was ousted in the third round of the Legg Mason Tennis Classic last week. He'd been a semifinalist in the event last year and, as a result, lost 315 points in the rankings. That allowed Fernando Verdasco and Jo-Wilfried Tsonga to pass Roddick, who had been in the Top 10 each week since Aug. 21, 2006.

The only other change in the Top 10 was Tomas Berdych's one-spot improvement at the expense of the injured Juan Martin del Potro. Berdych is now seventh and del Potro slipped to eighth.

Rafael Nadal has a healthy grasp on the No. 1 spot. He's been on top for a total of 56 weeks and will likely move into the Top 10 on the list of most weeks at No. 1 this month. Jim Courier, No. 1 for 58 weeks, is 10th on that list. UPI
