WASHINGTON, Aug. 9 (UPI) -- President Obama heads to the heart of Texas Monday, speaking at a Democratic National Committee event and the University of Texas-Austin, the White House said.
Obama will discuss higher education on his visit to the university, the daily schedule indicated.
Before leaving for Texas, Obama welcomes the Super Bowl champion New Orleans Saints to the White House. While in Washington, the Saints will hold a Let's Move!-PLAY 60 football clinic with area children. The Let's Move! campaign, begun by first lady Michelle Obama, has a national goal of solving the challenge of childhood obesity within a generation. The National Football League's PLAY 60 campaign is designed to tackle childhood obesity by getting children active through in-school, after-school and team-based programs, online child-targeted outreach and partnerships with other organizations.
