LAHORE, Pakistan, Aug. 23 (UPI) -- A bus was swept off a road by floodwaters in Pakistan's central Punjab province, killing at least 22 people, and several others were missing, officials said.
About 15 people were rescued after a strong surge of water overturned the bus in Punjab's Rajanpur district, Press Trust of India said Monday.
"The road was closed near Khad Buzdar village due to the danger of water torrents from nearby hills," a rescue official said. "But the driver ignored the warning and drove on".
More than two dozen people died last week when a flood in Punjab's Muzaffargarh district swept away a trolley carrying 40 flood survivors, the report said. UPI
