BEIJING, Sept. 8 (UPI) -- Two workers were missing after strong winds from Typhoon Malou tilted an oil drilling platform in Bohai Bay in China, officials said Wednesday.
Thirty-four workers were rescued Tuesday after strong winds caused the platform, operated by Shengli Oilfield, to list at a 45-degree angle, China's state-run news agency Xinhua reported.
Shengli Oilfield, a subsidiary of Sinopec, said four people fell into the water and 32 were trapped on the platform. Two workers who fell into the sea were among the rescued.
Rescuers were searching Wednesday for the other two who fell, Xinhua said.
The platform is about 5 nautical miles from the east coast of China.
