Obama discusses healthcare, world poverty

WASHINGTON, Sept. 22 (UPI) -- President Obama discusses U.S. healthcare reform and worldwide anti-poverty goals Wednesday in separate addresses, the White House said.

In the morning, Obama will meet with insurance commissioners then conduct a backyard discussion on healthcare reform and the Patient's Bill of Rights at a private residence in Falls Church, Va., the daily schedule indicates.

In the afternoon, Obama will address the U.N. General Assembly in New York during the Millennium Development Goals summit. The Millennium Development Goals are eight global anti-poverty initiatives.

While in New York, Obama will speak at a fundraising event for the Democratic congressional election committees.
