(CNN) -- An explosion and fire at a plastic factory in northwestern China's Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region forced authorities to shut a nearby airport temporarily, the state-run Xinhua news agency reported Saturday.
No deaths were reported, while at least 15 flights were impacted, the agency said.
It reported witnesses near the factory heard explosions late Saturday night, and then saw debris falling onto the grounds of the airport.
Police are investigating the cause of the fire, Xinhua reported.
