$1 million marijuana bust in Ohio

CINCINNATI, Oct. 28 (UPI) -- Ohio police say they arrested two men after officers responding to a neighbor's complaint of a strong chemical odor found more than 1,000 marijuana plants.

Responding firefighters and deputies entered the Liberty Township, Ohio, home and found the entire house being used as a pot-growing operation, The Cincinnati Enquirer reported Thursday.

Officers found plants in various stages of growth, with some already harvested and hanging in separate rooms to dry.

Planting beds in almost every room measured 4 feet by 8 feet, with each containing hydroponically grown marijuana.

Each of the plants had a street value of about $1,000, making the bust worth more than $1 million, Sgt. Todd Langmeyer of the sheriff's department's criminal investigations unit said.

Two men found hiding in the attic were arrested.

A. Bay Luong, 46, and Phuc Ky Luong, 50, were charged with cultivating marijuana, a third-degree felony.
