TRAFALGAR, Ind., Oct. 28 (UPI) -- A man found whose motorcycle flipped over a guardrail near Indianapolis lay injured in a ravine for three days before a woman stumbled upon him, officials said.
Raymond Lebo, 40, had to be removed from the ravine by helicopter. He was listed in stable condition Thursday after surgery that included placing a rod in his thigh, Indianapolis's Methodist Hospital told United Press International.
Lebo was found around 5 p.m. Tuesday when Patricia Griswold, 70, was walking with her two dogs and two quarter horses to check out a creek on her Trafalgar, Ind., farm after a severe rain.
Friends and family had driven all around the rural area trying to find him but couldn't because he was unable to be seen from the road, The (Franklin, Ind.) Daily Journal reported.
Griswold told The Indianapolis Star she heard a voice as she walked but didn't know what it was -- even imagining it might have been from a passing car's radio -- but later deciphered it as a man saying, "Help me".
Peering down the ravine, she eventually saw Lebo, his left leg bent at an unnatural angle and both of his eyes blacked as if with theatrical makeup.
